Critical Reading & Writing Pre-Level 0
The Critical Reading and Writing P-L0 course aims to prepare students for nonfiction and fiction reading benchmark assessments by incorporating read alouds, decodables, and leveled texts to develop students background knowledge, stimulate their interest in high-quality children’s books, increase their comprehension skills and foster critical thinking. Students will build independent reading skills required to read increasingly complex text through the grades. Furthermore, students will gain adequate mastery of a range of skills and applications that demonstrates language use, vocabulary and syntax in writing.
Below is a complete detailed description for Critical Reading and Writing Standards.

Writing - students will use a combination of drawing, dictating and writing to compose opinion pieces, informative and explanatory texts and to narrate a single or linked event. Students will also explore a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing and participate in shared research and writing projects.
