Every year we get the chance to reset our goals, yet we find it difficult to keep them. Here are three simple advice we can give you to help you maintain your New Year's Resolutions:
Choose a realistic goal and make a plan on how to keep it In order to achieve your academic success, you must put the work into it. Make a habit to prioritize your days! Having a detailed set of tasks to do each day will guarantee that you achieve your daily goals each day. If you are consistent with this, you will see positive outcomes of your performance. Don’t wait until the last minute when you have an exam to have cram sessions, those never work out well.
Don’t let speed bumps bring you down It is only natural to feel disappointed by failure, but that’s the part that makes us all human. The path towards your goal is never a straight line. You can be going over roller coaster loops as many times, but at the end of each failure is a lesson that you can bring with you to better yourself and improve on. Every mistake or hiccup you may encounter is just a learning lesson!
Lastly, don’t give up! At the end of the day, the biggest obstacle between you and your goals is YOURSELF. Learn how to nurture and really respect yourself like how you do to your heroes, educators, role models. If the voice inside your head is telling you to give up, don’t listen to it. Prove to yourself that you are capable of setting goals and following through with them.
At the end of the day, having goals and motivating yourself to keeping them is essentially a part of personal growth!
