Critical thinking is a skill required across disciplines and professions. The ability to process information, draw conclusions, and analyze patterns is essential to success. This class is an interdisciplinary course designed to instruct students in critical thought processes that are key to logical and deductive reasoning. By the end of the course, students should be able to 1) synthesize information and make clear generalizations from it 2) employ problem-solving skills to solve both reading and logical puzzles 3) make reasonable deductions based on information.
In order to practice and assess students’ mastery of taught skills, there will be a variety of in-class activities and a final assessment test at the end of the class. Moreover, the activities are designed to be fun and engaging: perfect for drawing the young critical thinker’s focus.
