Class Meeting Time: 6:30 - 7:30pm PST, Sunday (Mar 1 - April 30, 2021)

Office Hour Time: 7 - 7:30pm PST, Thursday (Mar 5 - April 20,2021)

Course Overview

As children grow up in an increasingly technologically and scientifically advanced world, they need to be scientifically literate to succeed. Moreover, with the fast growing needs of AI and Robotics, it’s essential for students to develop basic STEM Robotics skills if they want to go in these directions. Teaching Robotics skills to students is teaching them how to create robots, grasp basic programming skills, think, solve problems, make informed decisions, and learn. These skills are integral to every aspect of a student’s education and life, from school to career.

In this session, students will work on hands-on projects in teams and learn the entire research and robotics building process, including how to define a research problem, conduct literature research, study different robot types, select related robot parts and circuits, draw a basic building map, install and test basic robots, design an experiment, collect data, analyze data, and draw conclusions.

Target Learner

G2-8 students who are interested in solving real-life problems using science and engineering approaches, and passionate about building their own robots and joining STEM-related activities.
